3-copy
MACRO GARDEN… MICRO GARDEN… NANO GARDEN…

From a distance, forms multiply, cluster and compete across an environment charged with seduction. Life appears abundant and almost innocent: a field beyond control, each form competing for light, space and the privilege of continuing, the same choreography humans call civilization.

But innocence disappears the moment scale changes. Beauty is one of predation’s most sophisticated tricks. What resembles a flower may become an eye, an ovum, a cell dividing or an organism preparing to consume another. Beauty survives through appetite.

The work moves from the MACROSCOPIC theater of appearance into the MICROSCOPIC machinery operating beneath it. At one scale, we see individuals. At another, tissues, fluids and cellular wars taking place without permission from the conscious mind.

Go deeper still.

At the edge of the composition, a solitary circle appears contained within a dark geometric field. It is a conceptual zero: the point at which every identity collapses into material possibility. Here, human, animal, plant and object surrender their names as matter approaches the NANO scale… until only the ATOM remains.

The atom participates in birth and death without contradiction, then abandons one form to become another. It resides in the brain of a genius, the blood of a murderer, the breast of a mother, the semen of a stranger, the root of a poisonous plant or the device used to erase entire civilizations. At the atomic scale, a cathedral and a toilet lose the distinction we defend between them.

We divide bodies by species, race, gender, desirability, intelligence, purity and economic value. We classify which bodies may be touched, penetrated, consumed, protected, exploited, reproduced or erased. Yet beneath these elaborate human rituals of separation, matter continues its obscene democracy: everything touches everything eventually.

The garden feeds on every identity.

Dependency, mutation and death connect one organism to another.Every breath is an invasion. Every touch leaves material evidence.

Every flower in this painting is singular, like a fingerprint, yet each emerges from the same indifferent matter. Difference performs itself upon a foundation of sameness.

From the MACRO perspective, life appears divided into bodies. From the MICRO perspective, each body becomes a crowded civilization. From the NANO perspective, civilization itself disappears into matter without biography.

Macro Garden… Micro Garden… Nano Garden… confronts nature’s contradictions—or perhaps exposes contradiction as a human label for a complexity that refuses to explain itself.

The garden is not around us.
The garden is the temporary arrangement we call US.
